Previously Environmental Commission members discussed the work being done at the end of Ridge Road and Darlington Avenue by Rockland Electric. A substation is being built. On 6/3/04, we received an email from Julio Carrillo, a Society Hill I resident, complaining about the substation is a residential area. We had no notification from Rockland Electric or the township prior to the actual construction.
We received an email from Darren Ward, an Oakland Environmental Commissioner.
He was inquiring about Mahwah’s plans for a walking/bike path along the Ramapo River which could join to Oakland's path. He also contacted John Spiech for information. We would have recommended him to contact John Spiech, who is most knowledgeable about these plans.
