HOUSING COMMISSION MEETING
Tuesday, March 18, 2003
Chairman, Dr. Bernard Ross, who read the Open Public Meeting Act Statement prescribed by law, called the meeting to order at 8:00 P.M. Notice of the meeting was published in the Ridgewood News on June 28, 2002, posted in the Township Hall and filed in the Township Clerk’s office.
Minutes of the meeting are available from the Township Clerk, the Secretary of the Housing Commission and the Municipal Web site upon adoption by the Commission.

Present: Brotherton, Calandrillo, Plicinski, Raiz and Ross.
Absent: Martel, Snyder.
Donna Tamayne, Associate Township Attorney was present.
Plicinski made a motion to approve the minutes of January 21, 2003 Housing Commission meeting. Calandrillo seconded. Motion approved.
The meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 18, 2003 was cancelled due to inclement weather.
On a motion by Brotherton, seconded by Calandrillo the meeting was opened to the Public. Motion approved.
No Public in attendance.
Calandrillo moved to close the Public Portion. Brotherton seconded. Motion passed.
Correspondence was reviewed.
Housing Manager’s Reports
Reports were reviewed.
Report A Two units are available to rent at the present time, in addition there is one unit with a Sale Pending and one unit with a Rental Pending.
Report B An owner in Ridge Gardens was found to be in rental violation, a Summons was signed on 3/6/03, a 30 day adjournment was granted, to allow the owner to forward the fee for a request for Rental Evaluation and rent to an eligible certified household at the Maximum Permitted Rent. Tamayne stated if fee is not received by 3/19/03 she will contact owner and proceed with the April Court date.
Report C Nothing new to report.
Report D Tamayne will contact Atty. representing the unit in pending Foreclosure. She will
also check the status of the recommended proposal concerning the two units in Ridge Gardens. A confirmation of Mayor and Council by Resolution must be completed.
Report E Present balance is in excess of $550,000.00.
Tamayne reported the Township Council passed a Resolution which will be submitted to New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency for consideration in amending the rules by which it monitors compliance with the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program for senior citizens age 62 and over, residing in affordable housing rentals. Reed will request a copy of the Resolution from the Township Clerk’s office.
Draft letter to owners of Mahwah Affordable Housing, regarding clarity of Ordinance regarding restrictions at time of 25-year expiration was discussed; a revised draft will be reviewed at Housing Commission April meeting.
The next Housing Commission meeting is Tuesday, April 15, 2003,
Being no further business Plicinski made a motion for adjournment at 8:35 P.M., seconded by Calandrillo. Motion approved.
