The Continental Soldiers’ Park Turf Replacement Project is in full swing and moving toward an expected completion date in mid-August. The $1.4M project is funded primarily by the Township but includes a grant from Bergen County of $125,000. Designed by Township Engineer, Boswell Engineering and being installed by The LandTek Group, Inc. of Amityville, New York, when complete, the project will include the replacement of the multi-use synthetic turf field, chain link fence construction, the installation of protective netting, and the installation of shaded dugout structures at both the softball and baseball fields. As shown below, in a Mahwah Police Department drone photo, taken by Officer Michael Dombroski, from July 22, the stone base is complete and awaiting the arrival and installation of the turf. A grand re-opening of the Park will be scheduled when complete.
