The Housing Commission advises the Township Council and Planning Board on matters relating to residential developments containing affordable housing units.  The Commission monitors, on an ongoing basis, the implementation of the Township's Affordable Housing Plan.  They also provide public relations, counseling and outreach services for affordable housing opportunities within the Township.  Recommendations are made to the Township Council and Planning Board to ensure that Mahwah continues to meet its affordable housing goals.  The Commission consists of seven members and a secretary: the Mayor, representatives from both the Township Council and the Planning Board, the Human Services Director and three Township residents.  Meetings are open to the public, and are held on the third Tuesday of the month.
