The Township Clerk, the longest standing of public servants and a critical part of efficient and responsive local governments, serves as a direct link between residents and local government. The office of the Municipal Clerk is responsible for issuing licenses for dogs, kennels, raffles, bingos, limousines, taxis, and towing companies, and games of amusement, which include, carnivals, circuses, and car shows; sale of municipal street and zoning maps; forms for passport applications, and flood certification, senior citizen cards, handicapped parking and parking permits, ordinances, notary services for Township, County or State documents only,  and information regarding municipal services.

The Municipal Clerk is the election Administrator for the Township. Voter registration is permanent, but
you must re-register if you fail to vote in any election for four consecutive years or change your name or residence. Voter Registration Forms, Voter Declaration of Party Affiliation and Applications for Absentee Ballot and Military Absentee Ballot forms are available in the Municipal Clerk's Office.

Mahwah Township Announces Code Online

          The Township Clerk has announced that the Code of the Township of Mahwah is now available on the Internet. Township residents have unlimited electronic access to the codified Township ordinances. 

Coded Systems provides the ordinance codification and publishing services for the Township.  This service provides the user with the ability to search and print the text, with just a click.  Whether it’s a question on dog licensing or recycling, the answer can usually be found in the Code.”
             Residents are invited to view the Township Code on Line and enjoy the benefits offered by the latest in technology.
