The Tax Assessor's Office is responsible for the assessment of all real property within the taxing district, and for the processing of deeds, sub-divisions, reviewing all building permits to determine additional value, and keeping up with map changes. Property owners have until April 1st of the tax year to file an appeal of their assessment to the county tax or state tax court.
Any questions regarding current tax assessment, veteran's deduction, and senior citizens deduction can be answered by the Tax Assessor's Office.
