In preparation for Hurricane Irene state and local officials are recommending that residents who DO NOT live in a low lying or flood prone area “shelter in place.” Shelter in Place means that you should have a supply of batteries, flashlights, food, water and other essential items in your house that allows you and your family to remain there for several days without electrical power or phone service.
If you live in an area that is prone to flooding or access routes that become flooded then it is strongly recommended that you make arrangements to stay with friends, relatives, or hotels that are powered by generators.
As of today the Township has not designated any shelter locations.
In the event of an emergency dial 911.
