December 8, 2004

A work session meeting of the Environmental Commission was called to order by J. Brotherton, Chairman. Also present were J. Spiech, C. Phiefer and J. DeWan (secretary).

J. Spiech presented the information he prepared for the grant application. It is a $2,000. matching grant. The deadline is Dec. 15, 2004. The secretary will prepare a resolution of support of the grant application by the Environmental Commission.
J. Spiech and J. DeWan will complete the grant application and mail it before the deadline.

Memo to Administrative Officer:
“The following soil movement permit applications were reviewed at the meeting held on December 8, 2004. Comments are listed below.

Mahwah Board of Education/Center for Food Action, 60 Ridge Road Bl. 135, Lot 54.02,
Dkt. 479S, dated 11/12/04. We note that there will be twenty-four replacement trees.

Lou and Barbara Mitas, 8 Matthew Place Bl. 162, Lot 225, E-BD-216-304-387. dated 12/1/04 – approved.

Danza Group, Inc., Halifax Road Bl. 1, Lots 130.02 and 130.03, Dkt. 376S, dated 11/14/04.
We need clarification on the potential location of the Township well site. How close is it to these lots?

George and Christine Richter, 250 and 266 Airmount Road Bl. 109, Lots 4 and 5, Dkt. 473S, amended 11/29/04. Rowayton Partners, LLC
We don’t understand the tree removal plan. We need more information.”

Re: Soil Movement Permit for Richard and Ping Yi Wong, 11 Cider Court
Bl. 126, Lot 144.04, E-BD-216-304-380
Mike Kelly’s letter of 11/303/04 concerning review of application.
“We agree with Mr. Kelly. We revise our approval to just removing the four trees that are within the pool area, which would require one replacement tree.

We don’t have the original tree replacement plan for this lot from when the house was built. That plan should still apply. If the resident wants to remove additional trees, the Property Maintenance Office should be contact concerning a tree removal permit.”

We received the ANJEC invoice for 2005 membership dues in the amount of $260.00 for the year for seven members. It will be processed in January 2005.

The work session meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
The next meeting is scheduled for January 12, 2005 at 7:30 p.m.
