The meeting of the Environmental Commission was called to order by John Brotherton, Chairman. The Opening Statement was made. Roll call was taken.

The minutes of the meeting held on April 13, 2005 were accepted as submitted.
A copy of a letter from M. Winokur to Gary Kayal, 103 Airmont Avenue was reviewed concerning the need for the County to approve his plan to plant in what may be a County right-or-way.
We received letter from NJ Highlands Council concerning a meeting of the Council’s Municipal and County Advisory Council to be held on Monday, May 16, 2005 at Wanaque from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Business Administrator’s memo states Earth Day will be Saturday, May 14, 2005.
D. Wenger submitted a receipt for $30.00 to be reimbursed for fee for ANJEC course on March 5, 2005.
SOIL MOVEMENT PERMIT APPLICATIONS
Memo to Administrative Officer:
“The following applications were reviewed at our meeting held on April 27, 2005.
Comments are listed below:
Craig Saunders, Maple Road Bl. 4, Lots 9 & 10, E-BD-216-1776 (BOA Dkt. 1097-03), dated 4/13/05. This application is approved. We note eighteen trees will be removed and five replacement trees will be planted. They should be native deciduous trees. Norway maple and white pines are not acceptable replacement trees.
River Palm Terrace, 209 Ramapo Valley Road Bl. 132, Lot 4, BOAD Dkt. 1101-03S, amended 4/14/05. This application is approved. We note there will be fourteen replacement trees: one sugar maple and 13 blue spruces. Four trees will be removed.
Timothy & Brigid Scannell, 36 Bramshill Drive Bl. 23.02, Lot 15, BOA Dkt. 1138-04S, dated 4/13/05 – approved.
William Griterek, 85 McIntosh Drive Bl. 120, Lot 115.03, E-BD-216-1782, dated 4/21/05. This application is approved. We note that 57 trees will be removed. There will be 15 replacement trees: all maples and oaks. Norway maples are not acceptable replacement trees.”
