TOWNSHIP OF MAHWAH REORGANIZATION MEETING MINUTES THURSDAY, JULY 1, 2004 The meeting was called to order at 8:00 PM by Council President Richter who read the Open Public Meetings Act Statement as prescribed by law. Notice was advertised in The Record on June 17, 2004 stating this meeting would be held on Thursday, July 1, 2004 at 8:00 PM in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Offices, 475 Corporate Drive, Mahwah, New Jersey. Notice of this meeting is posted on the Municipal Bulletin Board. The minutes of this meeting shall be available in the Municipal Clerk’s Office. Salute to the Flag. Present: Councilmembers Calandrillo; DaPuzzo; DiGiulio; Kelly; Paton; and Richter Absent: Councilmember Spiech Also present were Mayor Richard Martel, Business Administrator Brian Campion, Township Attorney Menelaos Toskos and Municipal Clerk Kathrine G. Coletta. PRESENTATION TO COUNCILMEMBER DaPUZZO Richter presented Councilmember John DaPuzzo with a crystal vase and stand for his years of service to the Township. MUNICIPAL CLERK’S CERTIFICATION OF RESULTS OF MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF MAY 11, 2004 The Township Clerk certified the results of the May 11, 2004 election to be Mayor Richard J. Martel for the term of July 1 through June 30, 2008; Council Members H. Lisa DiGiulio, Samuel Alderisio, John F. Roth for the term of July 1 through June 30, 2008. Richter asked Judge Gianni to perform the Oaths of Office. RESOLUTIONS See Resolutions #001-04A through #027-04A, attached to and made part of these meeting minutes. PUBLIC PORTION On a motion by Calandrillo, seconded by Kelly, the meeting was open to the public at 9:03PM. All in favor. Motion carried. Mr. Frank Russo of 22 Olney Road stated the Township has 16 athletic fields and he does not understand why the Township needs any more. Mr. Frank Russo disagrees with the addition for the Police Station when the new Firehouse has room. On a motion made by Calandrillo, seconded by Kelly, the meeting was closed to the public at 9:03PM. All in favor. Motion carried. Richter asked if everyone could let her know their vacation times. Richter stated that July 15th the Capital Bond Ordinance will be reintroduced which takes five votes to carry. The Business Administrator stated the Township was looking to adopt the Capital Bond Ordinance on July 29, 2004.
