Memo to Township Clerk
“Re: Winhoffer, 122 Seminary Drive, Bl. 23.02, Lot 1
We reviewed the soil movement permit application dated June 17, 2002 submitted by Dr. Ernest and Mariels Winhoffer at our June 26 meeting. We reviewed it as a normal application and gave our approval for the two replacement trees (25% of the seven removed). We had no official word about the unauthorized removal of trees by Dr. Winhoffer.
Dr. and Mrs. Winhoffer attended our meeting June 26th along with their attorney. They told us about the matter of the tree removal which prompted John Lane’s action. We told them that we would make the Council aware of our approval of the soil movement application and that we would defer any other action to the Council.
At our July 10th meeting, we had the benefit of the Township Clerk’s letter of July 9th with included John Lane’s letter dated April 12, 2002 to the Winhoffers. The matter of the unauthorized tree removal is really outside of our normal activity. Dr. Winhoffer did remove trees prior to any approval, however, we leave the matter up to the Council and the Municipal Court.”
