Sustainable New Jersey
Sustainable Mahwah pursues statewide certification through Sustainable Jersey - a certification and incentive program for municipalities in New Jersey that want to go green, save money, and take steps to sustain their quality of life over the long term. New Jersey is the first state in the nation to have such a comprehensive sustainability program for communities.
The Sustainable Mahwah team has a goal of not only achieving Sustainable Jersey certification but also encouraging long-term involvement of all of those interested in sustainable living and many township residents, community organizations, students, businesses
Sustainable Mahwah looks forward to the long term involvement of many residents (within or outside of Mahwah). A growing involvement of interested individuals and organizations will enable Mahwah to meet and exceed the requirements of maintaining certification while more importantly, creating a higher, more economical quality of life for its community and future generations.
The Sustainable Mahwah team encourages you to explore the Sustainable Jersey website to sign up to its news and discussion group. To join the Green Team or for more information about keeping Mahwah Green, please email the Green Team.
